８月１４日水曜日にバージニア州マンサスのツアーバス車内にて死亡しているのを発見されたDrowning PoolのボーカルDave Williams。同じTexas出身のバンドどうしUUとも親交の深かった彼に対するUUからのオフィシャル・ステートメントです。

In the summer of 2001 we toured with a band from Dallas, Texas called Drowning Pool. What started out as a respectful acquaintance quickly turned into a brotherhood between bands. In no time, we were riding on each others’ buses and sharing the stage whenever possible. We would often attribute our bond to the Texas roots that we shared. But, it really had to do with the character, honesty and balls out love that Drowning Pool exhibited on and off stage. This was especially true of their singer Dave Williams. Whether you were talking to him one-on-one or listening to him among a crowd of 10,000, he had the gift for making you feel like the most important person in the world. Anyone who has had the chance to see him onstage, meet him at a show, or has been fortunate enough to know him personally, knows that to be true. He had the biggest heart of anyone we had ever met. On Wednesday, August 14th 2002 we were shocked with the news of his death. His light did not shine long but it sure was bright. He was a true star with a heart of gold.
We will miss you, Dave.
